Voice Mail

Your voice mail, your rules. Stay in touch on-the-go with Cox Voice Mail. After you activate your voice mail, it’s easy to retrieve messages on your home phone or from anywhere with a computer, laptop, or mobile device.

Activate Your Voice Mail

  1. From your Cox Digital Telephone® number, dial *298.
  2. Select 1 for English or 2 for Spanish.
  3. Set a new 4-8 digit PIN for your account.
  4. Enter your NEW PIN and press #.
  5. Record your name.
  6. Create a custom recording or select the default greeting.

Note: Your initial setup must be done from your Cox Digital Telephone® line. To turn off Voice Mail, log in to Phone Tools and turn to the 'Off' position. If you have Caller ID Block on your line, you will need to press *82 prior to dialing *298 to temporarily suspend the block.

Activate Readable Voice Mail

  1. Log in to Phone Tools.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Select Voice Mail.
  4. Turn “On” Readable Voice Mail.
  5. Turn “On” Voice Mail Notification.
  6. Enter the Email Address where you'd like Voice Mail messages sent and select the desired Notification Option: Audio Message, Transcript, or Both. Select “Add” and repeat this step up to 4 times for a total of 5 email addresses.
  7. Select “Save”
