There are many benefits to having multiple Cox services, including consolidated billing and one source for customer service. You can also add or remove services anytime, giving you the power to change your services as your life changes.
What is a term agreement?
As with most services you sign up for, you are making a commitment. This commitment is known as a term agreement, which is an agreement between us and you that provides you certain price savings for internet by sticking with us for a certain period of time. If, for any reason, you are not satisfied with your service within the first 30 days of your agreement, we offer a hassle-free 30-day money-back guarantee. This means, if you cancel within your first 30 days, there will be no early termination fee (ETF). To do this, please call our Cox Customer Care team at the number located on your bill. After your first 30 days have passed, you will be charged ETFs if you cancel your Internet service before the agreement is over. There are no ETFs for cancelling TV, Phone, or Homelife Automation. Homelife Security with Starter Equipment Kit requires a separate 2-year term agreement with ETFs. If you are not interested in a term agreement, we do offer month-to-month Internet plans for an additional small monthly fee. In the event you want to change services or equipment covered by a term agreement you can do so without incurring ETFs, but such changes will affect your rates and discounts. We want you to be completely satisfied with our services so please contact our Cox Customer Care team by chat or phone if you have any questions or want to make any changes to your account.
If I pick the wrong Internet speed, can I upgrade later?
Yes – we want you to have the speed that best fits your needs so you always have the option to change it later. You can do this online or you may contact our Cox Customer Care team by chat or by phone. We try our best to get you what you need as fast as possible so if you have a modem that is compatible with your requested speeds, we can upgrade your speeds in minutes to get you up and running in no time. Too much speed? No problem – you can choose to downgrade. If you’ve taken advantage of some special promotional offers, you may not be able to maintain discounted rates if you change your speed. Chat with us to learn about your options.
What’s the final price?
The final price on your bill depends on your service address location and will reflect three groups of charges: your plan price, equipment rentals, and any local taxes and/or fees. You will only see equipment charges if you rent any equipment, like a modem, from Cox. Otherwise, you should not have any equipment charges on your account.
Why do you ask for my address?
Like most Internet providers, there are areas that we can and cannot serve. In order to assess if we can provide you service, we'll need your service address so we can double check if we can provide service at your listed address. If we are unable to, we'll try our best to send you to someone who can.

Use of a Cox-approved DOCSIS 3.0 or higher cable modem is required for internet service. (Gigablast and Ultimate service require 3.1). WiFi equipment meeting the 802.11ac standard is required for optimal wireless Ultimate and Gigablast performance. Internet delivered through Cox’s hybrid fiber-coax network. For current download/upload speeds for all Cox Internet tiers, visit the Speeds and Data Plans page. Uninterrupted or error-free internet service, or the speed of your service, is not guaranteed. Actual speeds may vary based on type of equipment used, environmental and structural conditions in your home, number of users and other factors. All Cox Internet plans include 1.25 TB (1280 GB) per month of data usage. In your area, we don’t currently charge fees for exceeding data plans.
