# Introducing spam blocker ## Call screening made smarter with spam blocker As our customer, you're already opted in to a free service that helps make sure only the right kinds of callers can connect to you. Calls that have a good chance of being spam get blocked entirely. And if an incoming call looks fishy, we'll give you a heads-up by labeling it as "Spam?" on your Caller ID. ## Stop stressing over unwanted calls We're on top of the latest technology to keep spoofed calls and robocalls away from your phone. With STIR/SHAKEN technology and Verified Caller ID, we can better ensure that you can trust your incoming calls. ## Know how to spot a phone scam On top of requests for money or your personal information, be sure to watch out for: 1. **Auto-recorded messages** 2. **Generic-sounding organization names, like "The Government"** 3. **High pressure sales tactics or threats if you don't comply** 4. **Requests to be paid in cash, gift card, wire transfer or private courier—rather than a credit card** ## Need to opt out of spam blocker? 1. Open the [Voice Tools page](https://voicetools.cox.com/) 2. Go to "Settings" 3. Set High, Medium and Low Risk calls to "Allow" 4. Select "Spam Blocker" [Update settings](https://voicetools.cox.com/) ## Protecting legitimate calls While it's important that we protect our customers from spam, we still want to be sure the right calls don't get blocked or mislabeled. If you think we've made a mistake, or even blocked calls from your number, you can help us fix it at [coxspamfeedback.com](https://www.coxspamfeedback.com/cox/). ## How we watch out for you Your home phone plan includes standard features we all count on to screen and block unwanted callers.
