After the cable modem is successfully registered on the network, the POWER, RECEIVE, SEND, and ONLINE indicators illuminate continuously to indicate that the cable modem is online and fully operational. For more details, refer to the Modem Lights section.
The ARRIS / Motorola SBG6580 has the following ports available on the back of the modem:
- ETHERNET - Four ports connect to the Ethernet port on your computer or home network.
- USB - Connects to selected client devices
- RESET - Used to reset the gateway
- CABLE - Connects to the cable wall outlet
- POWER - Connects the gateway to the power adapter
|Off||No power||Verify power supply connections and electrical outlet. Also make sure the outlet is not connected to a switch.|
|RECEIVE||Solid Green||None - downstream channel connected||N/A|
|Solid Blue||None - downstream channel connected with bonded channels||N/A|
|Flashing||Searching for a downstream channel connection||Verify all cable connections and try resetting the modem. If cable is OK and modem reset does not work, contact Customer Support.|
|Off||Modem off-line||Verify all cable connections and try resetting the modem. If cable is OK and modem reset does not work, contact Customer Support.|
|SEND||Solid Green||None - upstream channel connected|
|Solid Blue||None - upstream channel connected with bonded channels||N/A|
|Flashing||Searching for an upstream channel connection||Verify all cable connections and try resetting the modem. If cable is OK and modem reset does not work, contact Customer Support.|
