Installing Cox Security Software Powered by McAfee® on an Additional Computer

Summary

Learn how to install Cox Security Software on additional computers in your home.

Solution

As a Cox High Speed Internet customer, you have a license to download Cox Security Suite Plus on up to five computers, and McAfee Family Protection on up to three computers. You must login with the Primary Account Holder User ID in order to use Cox Security Software. For more information, see Understanding Digital Identities and Account Types.
To install or reinstall Cox Security Software on additional computer in your household, follow the steps below.

In a web browser, go to www.cox.com/css.

Enter your primary account holder User ID and Password, then click Sign In.

Note: If you do not remember your password, click the Forgot User ID / Password? link.

Click Manage under the Cox Security Software package you would like to install.
 

For Cox Security Suite Plus

If you see a Activate Now button instead of Manage, you have not previously installed this software or have deactivated your installation. See Activating Cox Security Suite Plus or Activating McAfee Family Protection for assistance with activation.

If you followed the steps above, but only see information about Cox Security Suite without the Activate or Manage buttons, then you are not logged in with your primary Account Holder User ID. The following error message may also display.

Based on the Cox Security Software package you chose, select one of the following options.

  • For Cox Security Suite Plus, click Manage Cox Security Suite Plus.

Downloading the Selected Software Package

At this point, you are redirected to the McAfee website to download the selected software package to your computer. Select your platform and package below to see the installation instructions.
 

Your license allows you to install Cox Security Software on up to five computers and McAfee Family Protection on up to three computers.
