Managing Notifications Online

Solution

Refer to the following steps to manage notifications in MyAccount through the Notification Preferences tab.

Notes:

  • If multiple accounts exist, Email and SMS notification options can be selected for each individual account by expanding the drop-down menus for each notification type.
  • If an SMS toggle is grayed out, then the phone number on file is not designated as a mobile number. To update this information, go to Personal Info and update the number listed in the Phone field if needed, ensure the Mobile Number checkbox is selected, and then click Save.
  • Notifications are sent to the customer-designated email. To update this information, go to Personal Info and select the Set as Preferred radio button for the User ID (Email Address) or the Alternate Email Address, and then click Save.

From the Users tab on the Users and Accounts page, locate the user you are editing by doing one of the following.

  • Scroll down the Users list to locate the account you are editing.
  • Click the Search icon to locate the user by name, email address, phone number, or extension.

Click the arrow to access the edit option.

From the Notification Preferences tab, click the drop-down arrow that corresponds with the desired changes.

  • Billing And Payment Notifications
  • Outage Notifications
  • 911 Notifications

Billing And Payment Notifications

Receive a notification your bill is ready or a payment has been made to an account.

From the Billing And Payment Notification section, use the toggles to turn the Email or SMS notifications on or off.

Note: The Profile Owner is opted in to receive bill delivery update notifications through email by default, but may choose to receive these notifications by email, SMS, or both. In order for a Profile Owner to opt out of bill delivery update notifications, another user on the profile must be opted in. If at any time all other users opt out of these notifications, the Profile Owner will automatically be opted back in to ensure at least one user receives them.

Outage Notifications

Receive a notification when a planned network update causes an outage in your area.

Note: Internet backup status and Internet service down notifications only display for Net Assurance customers. 

From the Outage Notifications section, use the toggles to turn the Email or SMS notifications on or off.

911 Notifications

Receive a notification when a phone number on your account dials 911.
