Managing Your Cox PIN


Cox is committed to protecting your privacy. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has rules that telephone companies must abide by regarding the handling of telephone calling records and other customer sensitive information. In accordance with these rules, our procedures are designed to protect your privacy.

Your four-digit Cox PIN is designed to protect your account. This PIN is requested during any of the following transactions.

  • Telephone calling records
  • Changes to the billing address
  • Changes to authorized account users

Locating Your Cox PIN

Your Cox PIN is located on your monthly billing statement in the top right section above your service address.

Cox PIN Security Standards

The following are the requirements for the Cox PIN.

  • Must consist of four numbers
  • Cannot use repeating numbers, such as 3333 or 8888
  • Cannot use 1234

Changing Your Cox PIN Online

Follow the steps below to change your Cox PIN.

You must be a Profile Owner (PO) to process these changes in MyAccount.


Refer to the following steps to sign in to MyAccount.

  1. Navigate to myaccount.coxbusiness.com.
  2. Enter your User ID and Password.

Note: If you do not have an active MyAccount profile, you must register online prior to managing your PIN. See Setting Up MyAccount Online.


From the MyAccount home page, click the More button.

From the drop-down menu, select Administration.

From the Administration window, click Account Administration and select Account Authorization Settings.

From the Account Authorization Settings window, click Select an Account if you have more than one account.

In the Change CoxPIN Code section, enter your information in the following fields.

  • Current CoxPIN - the four-digit code found on your current Cox statement
  • New CoxPIN - a new four-digit code
  • Confirm CoxPIN - re-enter the new four-digit code to confirm the number

If you do not want your Cox PIN displayed on your Cox statement, click on the box located next to Do not display CoxPIN on my bill to remove the Cox PIN from your monthly statements.

Scroll to the bottom of the page, click Save.

Result: The confirmation message displays at the top of the page.
