Changing the Duress Code in the Detection Subscriber Portal

Solution

Use the duress keypad code if an intruder forces you to arm / disarm your system or access your security settings. In this situation, you would enter the duress code rather than your regular keypad code.

Entering your duress code gives you full access to your detection system but a silent alarm is immediately sent to the Central Monitoring Station (CMS) and the police are dispatched immediately.

Follow the steps below to change your duress code in the detection subscriber portal.

Sign in to the detection subscriber portal.

Select the Security drop down and click Keypad Codes.

On the Keypad Access Codes window, click the pencil icon aligned with Duress.

Note: The duress code cannot be deleted, only edited.

From the Account Verification window, enter your Master Code.

From the Edit Keypad Code window, complete the following steps.

  1. Enter a new 4-Digit Code.
  2. Click SAVE.

Result: Your new duress code is active. The business owner should share the duress code with all trusted employees and make sure they know how it works.
