Renaming a Sensor in Your Subscriber Portal

This solution only applies to Cox Business Security Solutions customers within the following locations.

  • Florida
  • Louisiana
  • Macon
  • Kansas

The sensor names are used to refer to your Security Solutions system's sensors on the subscriber portal and in notifications. You have the ability to rename any of your sensors on your system through the subscriber portal.

Complete the steps below to access the Security Solutions subscriber portal and rename a sensor.

From your web browser, navigate to Cox Business MyAccount to access Security Solutions.

On the MyAccount login page, enter your User ID, Password, and click Sign In.

On the MyAccount home page, under the My Services sections, click the Security System Login icon.

From subscriber portal home page, on the left-hand menu, click Settings.

On theSettings window, click Devices.

On the Devices window, click the Devices option from left-hand menu.

From the sensor list displayed on the Devices window, rename a sensor.

  1. Enter the new name in the Sensor Name field.
  2. Click Save to update your changes.

    Note: Sensor names may only be changed in the subscriber portal. Changing the names in the subscriber portal will not change the sensor names on the touchscreen.
