Adding Users and Assigning Permissions Online

Solution

Follow the steps below to add a user and designate their permissions in MyAccount.

From the Users tab, click Add User.

From the Add Personal Info page, complete the following steps.

  1. Enter information in the following fields.

    FieldDescription
    First NameThis name is for registration. It does not make either you or the person whose name is entered the primary billing or technical contact.
    Last NameThe last name used for registration.
    UsernameThis must be a valid email address.
    Alternate Email AddressA secondary email address for the user.
    PhoneThe phone number for the user.

    Note: Click the box next to Mobile Number if the number provided is a mobile number and you agree to the clickable Terms.
    Cox Business PhoneThe Cox Business phone number and extension if applicable.

    Note: Click the box to Send Voice Welcome Email to assign an available Cox Business phone number to the user.
  2. Click Continue.

From the Add Roles and Permissions page, complete the following steps.

  1. Select one of the following user roles.
    • End User
      • Users can log in and manage their settings, as well as view and update support tickets.
      • Click the Billing, Internet, and Voice down arrows to assign applicable permissions for the user. For more information, see MyAccount User Permissions.

        Note: The permission options will vary based on the services on the account.

      • The Users and Accounts section is grayed out since this role is unable to make these changes.
    • Administrator or Profile Owner
      • Both manage services and features for all accounts.
      • They can add and manage additional users.
      • No additional permission settings are needed since these user types have full access.
  2. Click one of the following options.
    • To complete adding users, click Done.

      Result: The user information page displays.

    • To continue adding new users, click Add Another User and repeat steps 2 and 3.
