Android Privacy

Solution

As of March 21, 2024, free McAfee subscriptions will no longer be included in Cox Internet plans.

  • If you already have the McAfee software downloaded, you can continue using it until June 27, 2024.
  • Customer Notifications will be sent out to subscribers on April 25, 2024.
  • Cox will discontinue offering or supporting McAfee Anti-Virus software for all customers as of June 27, 2024.
  • On or before June 27, 2024, Cox customers should remove the Cox-provided McAfee software from their devices.

Complete the steps below to use the Privacy feature on Android devices.

Open McAfee Multi-Access.

Tap Privacy.

Refer to the table below to manage the available options.
 

Options Steps
Privacy Review and take any recommended actions.
App Privacy
  1. Review any data exposures.
  2. Review risks and tap Trust to keep the app or Uninstall to remove it.
Privacy Control
  1. Enter your McAfee Mobile Security PIN and tap Continue.
  2. Tap the box next to each app.

    Note: Tap Select All for all apps.

  3. Tap Lock or Unlock.

    Note: Once locked, the app requires the PIN to open it.
Set Profiles
  1. Tap the > (greater than sign) next to the profile to use.
  2. Tap the box next to each app to show the profile.
  3. Tap Save.
  4. Tap the circle next to the profile to use.
  5. Tap Activate.
  6. Access the Battery Optimizer from the notifications bar.
  7. Enter your PIN and then tap Enter.
  8. Tap Change Profile.
  9. Choose a profile to access.
  10. Enter your PIN and then tap Continue.

    Note: Select Unrestricted to return to full access.
Block Calls

To allow or block numbers.

  1. Tap YesList to allow or NoList to block numbers.
  2. Tap Add Number at the bottom to add numbers from.
    • Contacts
    • Call log
    • Text
    • New number

Tap the Access Filter log to complete the following.

  • View call logs
  • Add calls to YesList or NoList.
  • Send text.
  • Remove from the log.
