The safety of our customers and employees is our top priority.  At Cox, we follow CDC guidance and do not require our fully vaccinated employees to wear a mask unless required by federal, state or local guidelines.  If you’d like our technician to wear a mask while indoors during your appointment, please let them know when they arrive. Additionally, our technicians are not required to go into a customer home or business if they don’t feel comfortable. If that happens, please don’t worry. Our techs have ways to help you from outside with a bit of assistance from you on the inside.

Installation Appointment Checklist

Prep your home

On the day of your appointment, please make sure to help us with the following:

  • Someone 18 years or older must be present for the duration of your installation.
  • Clear the areas where the technician will be working.
  • Cable outlets should be easily accessible, or keep in mind where you’d want any new outlets installed.*
  • Technicians should be able to access exterior cable connection points; please keep any pathways clear.
  • Any TVs, laptops or computers you want hooked up are in your home at the time of installation.
  • If you’re keeping your own equipment (such as wireless cards, modems, routers), make sure they’re available to the technician.
  • While we love pets, please keep them secured while we install your services.
  • Are you getting Homelife services installed? Learn more about Homelife Automation or Homelife Security preparation.

The day your technician arrives

Your technician will arrive within your scheduled two-hour window. You’ll hear the game plan before the technician walks through your home, finding the best setup for your services and devices, and then they’ll hook everything up.

Have questions? Don’t be shy. Ask your technician anything about your new setup.

*The standard installation charge covers up to 3 outlets. New outlets may be an additional cost; let your technician know before the day of your appointment to account for estimates.
