Full of Love: Megan's Story

January 25, 2021

Two generations of nurses, one beautiful story.

Megan is an ICU nurse from California who hasn't seen her parents in-person in nearly a year, because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Megan doesn't want to run the risk of infecting her loved ones, so when she's not at the hospital, she self-isolates.

Without the direct support of her loved ones, Megan finds it even harder to cope with the long hours and intensity of her job — leaving her mentally and physically exhausted.

That's why Cox created the Connections Project — a community effort to offer human connection where it's needed most. With the "Full of Love" initiative, Cox is providing nurses like Megan with a taste of home by delivering meals cooked by their family members.

In this latest video, you can watch as Megan reacts with surprise and delight at finding her mother's lasagna waiting for her after a long day on the front lines.

Megan isn't alone. In the U.S., there are over 4 million registered nurses, most of whom are having to cope with the realities of the pandemic as part of their day to day existence. While the distribution of coronavirus vaccines is providing hope, nurses and other front line workers still have a long road ahead of them to help ensure the health and safety of their communities.

You can do your part by  volunteering from home or  thanking an essential worker for their sacrifices during this unprecedented fight. #nowmorethanever
