C2C partner stories

Snapshots of success

Cox partners with its communities and is committed to supporting K-12 students learning both inside and outside of the classroom.

Clark County School District

Created for the 2020-2021 school year, Connecting Kids is a Nevada public-private partnership that ensures all students across the state have equal access to virtual learning tools. Supported through C2C and CARES, Cox was a key partner in this coalition, providing enhanced C2C offerings and a Cox Field Operations team to lend support.

The results were undeniable. Nevada became one of the first states in the nation with confirmed connectivity for every student learning online. With the help of partners like Cox, the coalition has ensured that 100% of public school students digitally learning have access to reliable internet and a computer device in 15 of the state’s 17 county school districts.

“Cox has been instrumental in working with the Clark County School District to ensure students get affordable access to quality internet service. The added speed is an important commitment to our students' success, providing families additional peace of mind to complete schoolwork, connect during virtual learning and communicate with teachers.” – CCSD Superintendent Dr. Jesus F. Jara.

PCs for People

PCs for People, a Cox Connect2Compete partner since 2020, is led by ideals that go hand-in-hand with the C2C mission, their organization is dedicated to providing high-quality, refurbished computers for low-income families.

During the height of the pandemic in 2020 when digital connectivity was needed more than ever, Cox expanded its partnership with PCs for People by providing a $100,000 grant from the James M. Cox Foundation. This expansion helped deliver discounted computer equipment to 1,000 qualifying households across Cox’s nationwide footprint.
