Or any day really...#everydayismothersday
Moms are notorious for putting everyone else's needs in front of their own. It comes with the territory of being caregiver, chauffeur, chef, cleaner, dog walker, Band-Aid applier and a million other things. And due to the nationwide closures of school due to COVID-19, add school teacher, arts and crafts manager, screen time overseer and many other roles to the long list.
But if there is one day, just one, to take a little time to yourself, of course it's Mother's Day. After the traditional breakfast in bed and the adorable hand-made gifts from your little ones, enlist the help of someone to take the kids on an adventure outside — or at least to another part of the house — so you can get some much deserved time to yourself.
Here are a few ways Cox can help make it a perfect "me" day:
Healthy Mind, Healthy Body
You'll find a variety of on demand fitness programming that's available to all Cox Contour TV subscribers. You can sweat in the comfort of your own home without the need to drive anywhere, or even put on shoes! If you are a mom yogi and want more specialized content, you will appreciate the subscription-based Gaiam TV Fit & Yoga. Start your me day with appreciation for the strong body and arms that carry your heavy kids around all day.
When is the last time you had a dance session to something other than kids' bop? It's time for you to take control of the remote control radio dial (so to speak) and pick whatever strikes your fancy and dance mood. Classic rock from the 70s? Check. Top 40 of today? Check. Options like Music Choice, iHeartRadio or Pandora will help you get your groove on.
Binge Your Favorite Shows
Now that you have sufficiently moved your body, it's time to plop onto the couch with nothing on the schedule but to catch up on your favorite series or a movie. Again, when was the last time you did that? Check out your recorded programs or explore the vast library of on demand programs and movies that will allow you to get swept up in a rom-com, murder mystery, slapstick comedy or sci-fi thriller.
Moms do a lot, but rarely do a lot for themselves. If there is a way you can arrange for a few hours of me time, and have your partner, a family member, or friend take the kids for a brief moment in time, the self-pampering session will be something you thank yourself for. You deserve it.
