NBCU is launching its hot new streaming service — here's what it has to offer!
Peacock - the new streaming service from NBCUniversal — is ready to spread its wings. Starting today (July 15), the service gives access to a trove of beloved NBC series, as well as 15,000 hours of content ranging from popular films and Peacock originals, to curated daily news and Spanish language programming. Just say "peacock" into your Cox voice remote to explore!
Here's what to expect from this new service:
NBC has created some of the most beloved shows of all time, and many will be available at the click of a button. Classic comedies like 30 Rock, Parks and Recreation, and Cheers top the list, along with long-running drama series like Friday Night Lights and Murder, She Wrote.
More of a movie buff? Peacock will boast a huge library of films, including blockbusters (Jurassic Park), comedies (Bridesmaids), classics (Psycho), quirky fare (Moonrise Kingdom) and acclaimed dramas (Brokeback Mountain). Peacock also will offer an extensive library of family titles, such as Care Bears, Beethoven and Voltron Force.
If you miss the latest episode of your favorite NBC show, not to worry. Peacock will offer next-day availability for new episodes of current series. This includes shows like Blindspot, Chicago Fire, Manifest, Sunnyside and The Blacklist.
Looking for something to binge? Try browsing Peacock's curated genre channels, like “Current NBC Hits" or “Popular Latino." For sports fans, Peacock will provide access to live sporting events in the near future, including exclusive coverage of the summer Olympics in 2021.
Peacock isn't just about familiar fare, either. NBCU has in the making several exciting projects, specifically tailored for its new platform.
The highly anticipated new sci-fi series Brave New World, based on the classic Aldous Huxley novel, will be exclusively available on Peacock, as will the new comedy Intelligence, featuring David Schwimmer of Friends fame.
There will also be a slew of new DreamWorks animated kids' series, like Cleopatra in Space and Where's Waldo? Other shows in the pipeline include Tina Fey's new comedy Girls5Eva, and a Battlestar Galactica spin-off from Mr. Robot creator Sam Esmail.
Peacock will be supported on Apple devices and a completely FREE preview will be available to Cox Contour and Contour Stream Player customers until 2021. After the free preview, it will be between $4.99 and $9.99 per month.
