What’s Next: Best Season 2 Predictions of “13 Reasons Why”

May 04, 2018

MAJOR Spoiler Alert! This post contains details about season 1 of 13 Reasons Why.

13 Reasons Why was one of the most talked-about shows of 2017. Based upon the young adult novel of the same name, the series follows high school student Hannah Baker, a young woman who takes her own life. Two weeks after her death, her classmate Clay finds a mysterious box on his porch. Inside are cassette recordings made by Hannah in which she explains the 13 reasons why she committed suicide.

A heartbreaking story of bullying and depression, and experiences with suicide, sexual abuse and despair, the series has opened up a dialogue — often controversial — between parents and teens. The book’s story line is complete, but the series continues leaving fans guessing what’s next.

Fire up your Netflix on Contour and Cox Panoramic WiFi, and dive into these predictions for what’s to come on season 2 of 13 Reasons Why.

1. Justice For Hannah And Jessica?

undefined

The biggest unanswered question is whether Hannah and Jessica get the justice they deserve. Between Hannah’s tapes being uncovered (by both her parents and Mr. Porter), the civil trial and Jessica opening up to her father, it appears that Bryce will be exposed as a sexual predator. Will Hannah and Jessica finally get justice?

2. Clay Moves On

undefined

Hannah’s death and 13 tapes torture Clay throughout the series. By the end, he feels that he’s done what he feels is right — handing off the tapes to Mr. Porter. We see he reunites with Skye and Tony and appears to be returning to some sense of normalcy. But with a civil trial and so many unanswered questions, can Clay really be just a regular, happy teenager?

3. Bryce Gets His Punishment

Bryce knows what he did to Hannah; he even admitted it on what becomes tape 14. But coming from a rich and privileged background, will he be truly punished? 13 Reasons Why has shown that people don’t often do the right thing and it’s unclear whether the rich, popular jock will get his day in court.
