What to Watch: The Best of Amazon Prime Video

Need a new TV obsession? Here are our favorite movies and TV shows on Prime Video.

 

You're enjoying a nice, quiet night in. You've already got dinner figured out, now all you have to do is decide what to watch on TV. Easier said than done, right? To make life a little simpler, we're laying out the best of Amazon Prime Video. All you have to do to launch the app is say “Amazon Prime Video" into your Contour Voice Remote.

Based on the unpublished play In Moonlight Black Boys Look BlueMoonlight tells the story of an African American boy coming of age in a rough neighborhood in Miami. A groundbreaking film about identity, family and human compassion, "Moonlight" took home the Oscar for Best Picture in 2017.

A Quiet Place (2018)

If you like horror movies, this one is definitely for you. Co-written and directed by actor John Krasinksi, A Quiet Place is a modern horror film about a family of four who must keep quiet in order to survive. That's right, there are mysterious creatures that hunt through sound. A wonderfully tense thriller that continually subverts your expectations, A Quiet Place certainly makes for an exciting viewing.

Ladybird (2017)

Actress Greta Gerwig's directorial debut, Ladybird follows an artistic, strong-willed teen growing up in Sacramento as she continuously butts heads with her critical yet loving mother. A hilariously truthful look at the relationships that define us, "Ladybird" is a beautifully nostalgic nod to the places we call “home."

Hanna (1 Season)

Based on the 2011 film of the same name, "Hanna" is a brooding thriller about a young girl raised in the isolation of the woods by her father, and trained to be a lethal assassin. Jack Ryan (1 Season)

This political action thriller follows CIA analyst Jack Ryan, a character from Tom Clancy's well-established "Ryanverse." After discovering some unusual bank activity that may be connected to a terrorist organization in Yemen, Ryan is pulled from the safety of his desk job to work in the field. As he encounters present-day dangers, Ryan must also cope with traumas from his past as a marine.
