Requirements for installing Smart Lights

  • Fits in standard light fixtures, light socket type E26
  • Not to be used with separate dimmers
  • Light fixture must remain On at all times in order to control remotely

Tap the Lights tile and tap the selected light bulb to turn lights on or off, or select the All On or All Off options. For dimmable lights, press the square adjustment icon for your light and change brightness with the slider.

Troubleshoot smart lights installation

  • If pairing is unsuccessful, try resetting the bulb by turning it on and off 10 times. The bulb will begin to pulse, indicating it’s ready to pair.
  • This LED bulb shouldn’t be used with separate dimmers

Learn how to use your Smart Plugs

Tap the Lights tile and tap the light bulb icon to turn selected lights on, or appliances controlled by the Smart Plug, on or off. Pressing the All On or All Off buttons will control all LED Light Bulbs and Smart Plugs at once.

  • If pairing is unsuccessful, you can reset it. Remove the Smart Plug from the outlet. Press and hold the button while you plug it back in. Release the power button as soon as the blue light begins to blink. That means it’s ready to pair

Requirements for installing Smart Door Locks

  • Replaces standard dead bolt, must be separate from door handle
  • Fits standard doors 1 3/8” –2” thick (no hollow core doors)
  • Installs easily with Phillips screwdriver, no hardwiring needed
  • Requires 4 AA batteries, not included

You can program up to 30 individual user codes for your door lock.
Note: these are managed at the physical door lock, not through your Homelife app.

 

  1. On the inside panel of the door lock, press the Program button once
  2. On the door lock’s keypad, enter a new user code between 4–8 digits
  3. Press the Lock button once
  4. The keypad will flash green and beep once if it was a success
  5. Repeat the process to program more user codes

Locking and unlocking

 

  • To lock the door, press the Lock button once
  • To unlock the door, press the Lock button to illuminate the keypad (optional), then enter a valid user code
    Note: if three incorrect user codes are entered consecutively, or if three timeouts occur within one minute, the keypad will be locked for 60 seconds.

Troubleshoot Smart Door Locks

If initial pairing is unsuccessful, try resetting the lock by pressing the B button 9 times. This should let you restart the pairing process by pressing the A button 4 times. Need more help? Call Kwikset at 1-866-863-6584.

Learn how to install HD cameras

  1. First, check these requirements before continuing:
    a. Indoor installation only—Please call us at 1-877-404-2568 to request outdoor mounting and installation by one of our licensed technicians
    b. Power outlet for camera at desired location
    c. A maximum of 6 cameras can be connected to your Homelife system
  2. Download install instructions for HD Cameras
  3. Pair your cameras to your Cox Homelife Automation system
  4. Secure the camera body to the adjustable camera mount
  5. On the Overview screen, tap the More menu
  6. Take the black Ethernet cable and connect one end to the back of the camera body <Image: Connecting Camera to the wall outlet>
  7. Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to the black Ethernet Power Adapter cable
  8. Connect the power cord to the adapter cable and plug it into a nearby wall outlet
  9. Locate the WPS button on your home wifi router and tap it to begin the wireless pairing process <Image: Image of router>
  10. If you don’t have a WPS button on your router, you’ll have to connect the camera to the router using the white Pairing Y cable during the pairing process
    NOTE: make sure you have an available power outlet near your router before you get started
  11. Make sure both green lights on the front of the camera are on and blinking, meaning it’s ready to pair. Sign in to your Cox Homelife app to finish install
  12. Once the camera is successfully paired, you can move it where you want, utilizing just the Ethernet Power Adapter cable

  • You can see your camera views on the Overview screen. To switch between cameras, just swipe left or right through the gallery
  • To take a picture, select a camera and press Take Picture
  • To take a 15-second video clip, select a camera and press Take Video
  • To view, save or delete an image or video clip, select the desired camera or go to the Activity tab
