VCTA- Broadband Association of Virginia Honors 2021 Virginia’s Future Leaders Scholarship Winners
Eleven outstanding area students have been named 2021 Virginia’s Future Leaders Scholarship winners by the VCTA- Broadband Association of Virginia (VCTA), the Donald A. Perry Foundation and Cox. They are among 45 students awarded the scholarship this year by cable companies across the Commonwealth.
The scholarship winners are:
• Brianna Detter – Herndon High School
• Christian Nichols – Floyd County High School
• Kent Grantz – Lafayette High School
• Sophia Rechkemer – Kempsville High School
• Caroline Holland – Norfolk Collegiate
• Da’Shawn Wilson – Bridgewater College
• Ishanti Usher – Deep Creek High School
• Connor Ware – West Point High School
• Jacob Rizzio – York High School
• Ayonnah Tinsley – Westfield High School
• Kaleea Korunka – Green Run Collegiate
“The Virginia cable industry is honored and excited to award so many scholarships to outstanding students across the Commonwealth,” Ray LaMura, VCTA President, said, “We congratulate all the winners for their achievements and commend their hard work, dedication to higher learning and leadership contributions to their communities.”
Now in its 21st year, the Virginia’s Future Leaders Scholarship program is a statewide education initiative of the Virginia cable industry. To date, more than $1,000,000 in scholarships have been awarded to outstanding Virginia students attending Virginia colleges and universities.
