Black Friday. What comes to mind? Leaving the Thanksgiving table early to hit up the mall for great deals … Mass chaos for the latest gaming console?
Over the years Black Friday has grown into a week-long or month-long cultural event with Americans spending $9 billion last year.
Well, what if we could redefine what Black Friday means? Instead of glamorizing waiting in lines and scoring the hottest deals, what if we shift the conversation and turn Black Friday into something more powerful? This November, we’re making every Friday #BlackFriday. Over the next few weeks, we’ll be highlighting four local Black-owned business in Virginia to celebrate their hard work and success.
