Which TV plan is considered “basic cable”?
If you want to watch all your basic cable channels on your television, Contour TV Preferred is the cable package for you. Contour TV Preferred starts with a great channel lineup including local broadcast channels, ESPN, Disney, Discovery, History, A&E, TNT, HGTV & more, plus gives you the flexibility to pick and choose any additional channel packs you may want to add to your cable service the future. It's the best of both worlds -- get your basic cable channels, with room to grow.
How is Cox TV different from streaming services?
Cox TV gives you full access to live network television, premium channels and On Demand content for one monthly price. Contour TV boxes also support streaming services like Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, Paramount+, Max and discovery+.
What is changing about Cox pricing? What can I change after I sign up for Cox Services?
With our new flexible pricing options, you can buy only the services you want rather than signing up for multi-product bundles. You can build your own package by starting with our discounted Internet offers. You can always add TV, Phone, or Homelife Automation at our everyday prices (then-current regular (non-promotional) rates) and remove them without impacting the rates on your remaining services. If you want to change the tier of any of your services, like a different Internet speed or TV package, we will work with you find the service that meets your needs, but your rate and available discounts will be different since you are changing the level of services you are subscribed to. If you sign up for an Internet Bundle, removing either Panoramic Wifi or Cox Complete Care from your bundle will cause you to lose your bundle discount and promotional pricing. If you choose to sign up for a term agreement to get additional savings, ETFs apply for termination of your Internet service, but not if you cancel your TV, Phone, or Homelife Automation plans. If you’d rather not to make a commitment on your Internet plan, options are available without a term agreement for an additional small monthly fee. Homelife Security with Starter Equipment Kit requires a separate 2-year term agreement with ETFs.
Can I customize which channels are included in my TV plan?
Yes, with Contour TV you can add your favorite premium channels (Max, STARZ, Cinemax, Paramount+ with SHOWTIME) and channel packs including sports, movie, entertainment, news and Latino channels. TV Starter only supports a limited basic cable lineup, so additional channels cannot be added.
How much is Contour cable & streaming TV per month?
Contour TV prices start as low as $61.00 per month for 12 months. Streaming on your mobile devices and computer is included for free. Does Cox offer wireless boxes?
Wireless receivers are available with Contour TV, which includes the Voice Remote and the ability to watch live TV, On Demand and streaming apps in one place - no cable outlet needed.
How can I purchase digital boxes?
Cox does not sell digital boxes. If you already own a digital TV box, we lease CableCARDs that work with certified compatible CableCard retail devices, like TiVo. It's the perfect solution to provide you with the cable TV experience you are looking for without the added charges of renting equipment you've already invested in.
Does On Demand use data towards my monthly Internet data limit?

How can I watch TV online or on my mobile device?
Streaming TV is available for most of your channels and favorite TV shows inside and outside of your home when you use the Contour app and have an Internet connection. Can I use TiVo with Contour TV?
Yes! If you already own a digital box, we lease CableCARDs that work with certified compatible CableCard retail devices, like TiVo. It's the perfect solution to provide you with the cable experience you are looking for without the added charges of renting equipment you've already invested in.
If I pick the wrong TV plan, can I switch later?
Yes – we want you to have the plan that best fits your needs so you always have the option to change it later. The process can easily be done online or you may contact our Cox Customer Care team to do so. We try our best to get you what you need as fast as possible so if you have a box that is compatible with your requested channels and features, we can upgrade you in minutes. Too many channels? No problem – you can easily remove channels at any time or even switch to streaming only.
What’s the final monthly TV price?
The final price on your bill depends on your service address location and will reflect three groups of charges: your plan price, any add-ons (additional boxes, channels, or DVR service), and any local taxes and/or fees. We eliminated major broadcast and sports fees, so you won’t have any surprises.
What if I cancel my TV service early?
Of course, we’d hate to see you go, but do understand things change. How does instant access TV work?
Instant TV access allows you to stream all your out of home TV channels and shows ahead of your scheduled installation date. After your order is complete, simply register for your Cox My Account and download the Contour TV App from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store to your devices. Use your account to stream great entertainment while you wait. In addition to the Contour TV App, you also have the option of Watching TV Online or watching TV via the many TV Network Apps available in your channel lineup.
How do I schedule recordings for my DVR online?
If you have Contour with Voice Remote video service, you can record live shows from the Contour app or watchtv.cox.com. For other Video services, scheduling from your cable box will be the best option.
How do I check what time my TV show is on?
