What to Expect After Enrolling

After enrolling, the additional data plan takes effect the same day. On your next billing statement, you’ll see a pro-rated charge as well as a prepaid charge for the following month.

You will also see a few changes with how we help you manage your usage, including changes to your data usage notifications, on the Data Usage Meter, and to your billing statements.

• You will not incur overage charges in the data usage cycle in which you purchased the Unlimited Data Plan.
• When you enroll in the Unlimited Data Plan, you no longer receive data usage notifications because you can’t exceed your plan.
• When accessing the Data Usage Meter while enrolled in Unlimited, you will see the following.
  • Your Internet package.
  • The additional data plan name.
  • The amount of data you've used in the current cycle.
  • The updated data plan amount, Unlimited.
  • A full blue usage bar.
  • If you had any overages prior to adding Unlimited, the current usage bar and past daily bars all turn blue on the next day of the usage cycle.
• The meter refreshes daily with your usage from the previous day.
• For our 500 GB Additional Data Plan customers, Cox attempts to notify you when you pass different usage thresholds starting at 50%, depending on where you are in your cycle.
• When accessing the Data Usage Meter while enrolled in the 500 GB additional data plan, you will see the following.
  • Your Internet package.
  • The additional data plan name.
  • The amount of data you've used in the current cycle.
  • The updated data plan amount of 1,780 GB.
• The meter refreshes daily with your usage from the previous day.
• For our 500 GB Additional Data Plan customers, you are still subject to overage charges if you exceed your new monthly data plan. We automatically provide 50 GB blocks of data for $10 each if necessary. There is no change to the speed or quality of your Internet service if you exceed your data plan.

In addition, as with all our data plans, any unused data does not roll over to the next cycle and Cox does not issue credits for unused data.
