View and Change the Wireless SSID and Password

Details

Use the table below to determine the action to take based on the function you wish to perform using My WiFi.

Note: Based on your device, you may be able to view Network Settings for 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz primary and guest networks. Not all modems support both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. The steps outlined below are based on viewing or changing the SSID and password of the primary network; however, the same steps can be applied to view or change the SSID and password of the guest network.

View the SSID

From the Network Settings tab, the SSID is located in the Wireless Network Name (SSID) field as displayed in the image below.

Change the SSID

Complete the following steps.
 
Important: Before changing the SSID, be aware that you must reconnect all of your devices to the network using this new SSID.
 

  1. Click the Wireless Network Name (SSID) field and enter a new SSID.
  2. Click Save.
View the Password
  1. Locate the Wireless Password field.
  2. Click Show Password.

The Wireless Password field displays the password and provides the option to Hide Password as shown below.

Note
: The view and change password functionality may not be available for all WiFi modems. If the functionality is not available, refer to Finding Your In-Home WiFi Network SSID or Password.

Change the Password

Complete the following.
 

Important: Before changing the network password, be aware that you must reconnect all of your current devices to the network using this new password.

  1. Click in to the Wireless Password field and enter a new password.
  2. Click Save.
