Keypad

To check the current status of your Cox Homelife System using the keypad, locate the keypad model below that is in your home and follow the steps provided.

SMC Wireless Keypad

The following information supports the SMC Wireless Keypad.

Complete the below for the keypad type.

  • Press the System Status Image of the SMC System Status Button button.
  • The Unlock button Image of the SMC Unlock Button lights up to show you the status.

The table below describes the meaning of the light configurations.

Light System Condition
Green for three seconds The system is disarmed.
Red for three seconds The system is armed.
Orange for three seconds The system is not ready to be armed.

Example: A door or window is open.

Centralite Wireless Keypad

The following information supports the SMC Wireless Keypad.

The LED Status Indicator Light located at the top and bottom of the keypad indicates the current status of the system.

Centralite System Status Lights

The table below describes the system condition for each of the colors transmitted.

Color of Light System Condition
Green The system is disarmed.
Red The system is armed.
Gold The system is not ready to be armed.

Example: A door or window is open.

Guest Key Fob

To check the current status of your Cox Homelife System using the guest key fob, complete the following steps.

  • Press the Status Image of the Guest Key Fob System button button on the key fob for two seconds to light the LED.
  • The LED flashes red once to indicate that it has contacted the system.

When a key fob button is pressed, the LED flashes red once to indicate that it has contacted the Touchscreen. If the key fob is out of range of the Touchscreen, the LED flashes red three times quickly.

Extended Range Key Fob

To check the current status of your Cox Homelife System using the extended range key fob, complete the following steps.

  • Press the Unlock Image of the Key Fob Unlock button button and hold for about two seconds and release.
  • Then press again for about two seconds.

The table below describes the meaning of the light configurations for both guest and extended range key fobs.

Light System Condition
Green for three seconds The system is disarmed.
Red for three seconds The system is armed.
Orange for three seconds

The system is not ready to be armed.
