Using the Cox Voice Remote for Homelife Devices

The Contour Voice Remote provides you with the ability to control your Homelife devices such as system arming, thermostats, lights, smart plugs, and door locks. If you subscribe to Cox Contour TV or Contour Stream Player, you can also view your Homelife cameras live on your TV screen. Simply press the mic button on your Contour Voice Remote and say, Show me my cameras or Show porch camera. If you subscribe to Continuous Video Recording, you can also say, Show camera clips to view clips of people or vehicles.

Use the following tips to set up your devices for the Cox voice remote.

• Name your Homelife devices something unique and identifiable, such as Kitchen Light or Upstairs Thermostat. Do not include numbers in the device name, such as Bedroom Light 2.
• If you have a touchscreen control panel and dimmable Smart LED lights, make sure to activate the dimming feature in the Home Settings.

Complete the below steps using your Cox remote.

Note: There is no need for you to pair the voice remote to your Homelife system, this is all completed internally.

Hold the Cox voice remote 1 - 8 inches away and speak into the microphone, located at the top of the remote.

Press and hold the MIC button while talking.

Result: The LED on the remote flashes and a microphone symbol displays on the TV indicating Contour is listening.

While holding the microphone button, speak one of the recommended voice command examples listed in the table below.

Result: The receiver displays the requested action statement and the Homelife device responds to the request.
