Using Caller ID Per Line Blocking

Details

Caller ID Per Line Blocking is different than Caller ID Per Call Blocking. Refer to Using Caller ID Per Call Blocking for additional information regarding per-call blocks.

Caller ID Per Line Blocking prevents your name and number from being permanently displaying. Learn how to create and disable a block. To set up per-line blocking, contact us to ask for Caller ID Per Line Blocking.

To temporarily suspend per-line blocking and allow your name and number to be displayed, press *82 prior to each call.

Take note of the following information for Caller ID Per Line Blocking.

  • Calls to 911, 800, and 900 numbers cannot be blocked. Visit the National Do Not Call Registry for information on preventing unwanted calls.
  • Caller ID Per-Line Blocking is free of charge, but you must notify Cox that you want the per-line rather than the per-call blocking option.
  • If no option is chosen, Caller ID Per-Call Blocking is assigned.
