Using Busy Line Redial

Solution

Activating Busy Line Redial

If the number you call is busy and you hear a busy signal, then complete the following to activate Busy Line Redial.

  1. Hang up the handset.
  2. Lift the handset and listen for a normal dial tone.
  3. Press *66, then hang up the phone.
  4. Your phone continues to monitor the number for up to 30 minutes and a special callback ring alerts you if the line becomes free.
  5. When the special ring back alerts you the line is free, pick up your phone and you will be automatically connected.

Your line continues to attempt to connect you for up to 30 minutes. See Canceling a Busy Line Redial Call Back Request to return to normal use.

Canceling a Busy Line Redial Callback Request

If you wish to disable the feature, then prior to the 30 minute limit, complete the following.

  1. Lift the handset and listen for a normal dial tone.
  2. Press *86.
  3. Listen for the confirmation tone or announcement.
  4. Hang up the handset.

This service does not work with: 800 numbers, 900 numbers, numbers outside the specified service area, or lines where Call Forwarding and some other call services have been activated.
