Troubleshooting Panoramic Wifi Device Compatibility

Solution

With some iOS devices, the MAC Randomization or Private Address feature may cause WiFi compatibility issues. This can impact devices connected to the Panoramic Wifi network in the following ways.

  • Disable Smart WiFi feature functionality, such as active time limits, parental controls, and downtime schedules
  • Remove or create duplicates of devices in the Panoramic Wifi app

Note: If compatibility issues persist after troubleshooting, then refer to the device manufacturer for more information on how to permanently disable the feature.

Perform the following steps to resolve compatibility issues.

1

In the Panoramic Wifi app, complete the following steps to verify your device is listed.

  1. Tap the WiFi icon.
  2. From the WiFi screen in the Connected to your WiFi section, is the device listed in the Device list?
    • If yes, then continue to the next step.
    • If no, then reconnect the device to the in-home WiFi network. If the device does not display after reconnecting, refer to the device manufacturer for information on how to permanently disable the feature. All steps complete.
2

Tap the WiFi icon, tap the Manage people tile and select the applicable profile. Are disconnected devices listed that should be connected to the in-home WiFi network?

  • If yes, then continue to the next step.
  • If no, then proceed to step 5.
3

Verify duplicate devices are not listed by completing the following steps.

  1. Tap the WiFi icon.
  2. Does a duplicate listing of the disconnected device from Step 2 display under Devices?
    • If yes, then continue to the next step.
    • If no, then proceed to step 5.
4

To remove the duplicate device, perform the following steps.

  1. Tap the WiFi icon, then tap Devices Not Connected.
  2. Locate and tap the device, then tap Device Details.
  3. Tap Forget Device.
  4. From the Confirmation window, tap Forget Device.
5

To assign or reassign the device to the correct profile, complete the following steps.

  1. Tap the WiFi icon, tap the Manage people tile and tap the desired profile.
  2. Under Assigned Devices, tap +Assign Device.
  3. Tap the checkbox next to the selected, active device and then tap Apply.

Result: A message displays, confirming the device has been assigned to the profile. All Smart WiFi features, such as parental controls, need to be re-enabled.
