Troubleshooting Low Audio on the Basic Box

The following procedure will walk you through changing settings on both the Cox Basic Box and Cox remote control. Completing these steps will force the Basic Box and remote control to allow your TV to control the volume level of your service.
 
Note: Prior to starting, verify the volume level on your TV is set to a medium to low level using the remote control that came with your TV.

Navigate to the Volume Control menu using the Cox remote.

1. Press the Cox Menu button, highlight Settings and press the SELECT button.
2. Highlight Audio & Video and press the SELECT button.
3. Highlight Volume Control and press the SELECT button.

Highlight Fixed and press the SELECT button.

Press and hold the SETUP button on the Cox remote until the POWER button blinks twice.

Press and release the VOL + button, the POWER button will blink two times.

Result: The Cox remote control should now be able to adjust the volume on your TV.
