After the gateway is successfully registered on the network, a single solid white LED on the top illuminates continuously to indicate that the gateway is online and fully operational.

Important: To help prevent errors during installation, connect the coax cable to a cable outlet first, then connect the power cord to an electrical outlet.

The Technicolor CGM4331 has the following ports and buttons.

  • WPS - Located on the back of the gateway above the telephone ports, this button can be used instead of entering the WiFi password to connect wireless devices that support WPS to the gateway. WPS works only for wireless networks that use passwords encrypted with the WPA Personal or WPA2 security protocols.

Pressing and holding the WPS button for 60 seconds results in a factory reset. All customized settings are lost, and all settings are set back to factory defaults.

  • Telephone Ports - Connect to home telephone wiring and conventional telephones or fax machines. The telephone port on the top left side is for the first line of phone service. The top right telephone port has a plug labeled Do not remove and can only be removed when there is a second line of phone service.
  • Ethernet Ports - Ethernet ports 1, 2, 3, and 4 can connect to the 10/100/1000 Ethernet ports on your computer or other devices. It is recommended that devices be hardwired if possible.

Note: Ethernet port 4, marked with an orange line on the bottom right, is the 2.5 Gbps port, the preferred port for wired devices.

  • Cable Coaxial Input - Connects the coax cable to the cable wall outlet.
  • Power - Connects the power cord to the gateway.

MAC addresses are written as 12 digits containing both letters and numbers (0-9, A-F). A MAC address is unique. The first six characters of the MAC address are unique to the device's manufacturer.

Note: The default SSID and password are listed at the bottom of the device. To change these, customers use the Panoramic Wifi app. After a factory reset, the SSID and password revert to the default.
