Streaming App Does Not Launch

Solution

Review the following to troubleshoot when a streaming app will not launch on a Contour receiver.

  1. Ensure the following requirements are met before continuing to the next step.
    • You have any level of Cox Internet service.
    • You have a subscription to Contour TV or Contour Stream Player service.
  2. Check your internet connection by accessing a browser on another device, like a laptop or phone.
  3. Check the connections on the receiver to ensure they are finger-tight.
  4. Unplug the receiver for 30 seconds and then plug the receiver back in.
  5. Attempt to access the app, if the app does not launch, then clear the cache on the receiver.

    Important: Clearing the cache will result in being logged out of all streaming apps on the device. Other impacts may include clearing game history and watch history on some apps that do not require a login.

  6. To clear the cache, go to Settings, Privacy, then Locally stored data. Click OK to clear locally stored data.
  7. Attempt to access the app. If the app still doesn't appear, then contact us for further assistance.
