Setting Up Nomorobo

Solution

Use the following steps to activate Nomorobo robocall blocking on your Cox Voice phone.

Complete the following steps.

  1. From your web browser, go to voicetools.cox.com.
  2. Enter your primary User ID and Password.

    Note: If you do not remember your User ID or Password, or experience an issue signing in, see Recover Your Cox User ID or Reset Your Cox Password.

Click Settings to expand the drop-down menu options.

Complete the steps below.

  1. Locate Nomorobo/Simultaneous Ring.
  2. Toggle the button to On.

    Result: The Activate Nomorobo section displays.

From the Activate Nomorobo section, complete the steps below.

  1. Click ACTIVATE.

    Result: Your Primary Contact email address displays. If you do not have a Primary Contact email address with Cox, follow the instructions to enter and confirm a Primary Contact email address. This address will be used by Nomorobo to set-up your Nomorobo service on Nomorobo.com.

  2. Check the box to agree to acknowledge Nomorobo is a third-party service and provide consent for Cox to provide Nomorobo with the following information:
    • Your name
    • Your Cox telephone number
    • Your email address

    Cox cannot activate Nomorobo without this consent.

  3. Click Save.

    Note: If you already have three phone numbers in your Simultaneous Ring list, an Alert displays. Delete one of the phone numbers on your list to proceed.

Result: Nomorobo service is automatically activated and will begin blocking calls. You will receive an email from Nomorobo with a temporary password for accessing the Nomorobo website.

Once Nomorobo has been activated, allow one ring before answering calls so that Nomorobo has time to identify and block unwanted robocalls.

To verify your Nomorobo service is blocking calls, log in to the Nomorobo website, complete the following steps.

This step is not required. You do not need to access Nomorobo.com to activate the service, but you can find helpful information on the site.

  1. Click Your Phones, then locate the number.
  2. Click the Test button, then click the I'm ready. Call me now. button.
  3. Answer the phone after the status bar changes color.
    • If Nomorobo is activated, then you received an automated verification call confirming that Nomorobo is enabled.
    • If Nomorobo is not activated, then you received an automated verification call confirming that robocall blocking is disabled on your line. Your phone is not protected by Nomorobo. Contact the Nomorobo Helpdesk for more information.

If you are still receiving robocalls after activation, then verify that your Simultaneous Ring feature is enabled in Voice Tools. Contact Nomorobo directly for additional support.
