Self Installation of HD Camera for Homelife Automation

Solution

Follow the steps below to install and connect cameras to your Cox Homelife Automation system.

Sign in to the Cox Homelife mobile app.

From the Overview screen, tap the More menu.

From the More screen, tap Manage Devices.

From the Manage Devices screen, tap Add Devices.

From the Add Devices screen, select Cameras.

Follow the instructions on the screen to power up and then pair your HD camera.

Assembly and Pairing

Follow the steps below to assemble, power, and pair the HD camera with your Homelife hub.

Note: Make sure you have an available power outlet near your router before you get started.

Unpack the camera, ethernet cable, and power cords from the box.

Secure the camera body to the adjustable camera mount.

Connect one end of the black ethernet cable to the back of the camera.

Connect the other end of the ethernet cable to the black ethernet power cable.

Connect the power cord to the adapter cable and plug it into a nearby wall outlet.

Locate the WPS button on your home Wi-Fi router and press it to begin the wireless pairing process.

If you do not have a WPS button on your router, you must connect the camera to the router using the white pairing Y cable during the pairing process.

Look at the front of the camera and ensure both green lights are lit and blinking. This indicates the camera is ready to pair. The Cox Homelife mobile app now completes the pairing process.

After the pairing process is complete, the Manage Devices screen displays the camera.

Tap EDIT to customize the device name (for example, Living Room).

Once the camera is successfully paired, it can be moved to another location using just the ethernet power adapter cable, as shown in Step 5 above.

Accessing the Camera on the Mobile App

  • A default camera view displays on the Overview screen. Tap Edit in the top right corner of the screen to change to a different view.
  • To access other installed cameras, tap the menu icon on the Cameras bar.
  • To take a picture, select the desired camera and tap Take Picture.
  • To take a 15 second video clip, select the desired camera and tap Take Video.
  • To view, save, or delete an image or video clip, select the desired camera, or tap the Activity menu.
