Resetting Your Cox Password

Refer to the following steps to reset your password.

From Cox.com Home page, click Sign In My Account.

Click the Password? link.

From the Reset my password page, enter your User ID and then click Look up account.

Results: The following options display to reset your password.

  • Answer secret question: This option is only available when you are using a device that is connected to your home internet service.
  • Receive a one-time passcode
  • Text me

    Note: If no mobile number has been identified on the account, this option shows as Call me.

  • Call me

    Note
    : If a mobile number has been identified on the account, this option shows as Text me.

  • Email me

    Note: To use this option, you must have already completed the profile registration and validated your preferred email address. Refer to Registering Your Cox Account Online for more information.

Important: You have several attempts to enter a valid one-time passcode. If you exhaust those attempts, then you are prompted to send an ID Scan link for verification, see ID Scan for helpful tips.
