Follow the instructions below or watch the video for steps to replace the battery in the Cox Homelife Sensors.
Important: After replacing the equipment battery, acknowledge any error on the touchscreen and then reboot it. Refer to Rebooting the Homelife Touchscreen.

- While pressing down, slide the cover to the side to remove the sensor cover.
- Remove the battery from the sensor.
- Insert the new battery, observing the correct polarity.
- Dispose of the old battery properly, as recommended by the battery manufacturer.
- Replace the sensor cover.

- Insert a small flathead screwdriver into one of the small notches located on the same side as the magnet.
- Twist the screwdriver to pop off the sensor cover and set it aside.
- Remove the old battery and dispose of it properly, as recommended by the battery manufacturer.
- Replace with the new battery.
- Push the cover back on the sensor until it clicks into place.

- Press down on the battery cover.
- While pressing down, slide the cover to the side to open it.
- Push against the clip and lift the old battery from the slot below it.
- Dispose of the old battery properly, as recommended by the battery manufacturer.
- Replace with the new battery.
- Slide the cover back on the sensor until it clicks into place.
Note: This model is not available in Arizona, Las Vegas, or California. |

- Find the locking mechanism tab located on the narrow side of the sensor with the LED light pointing towards it.
- Press the locking mechanism using a screwdriver until the back cover pops off.
- Remove the old battery and dispose of it properly, as recommended by the battery manufacturer.
- Replace with the new battery.
- Replace the back cover by sliding the locking tab back into place on the sensor.

- Find the notch located on the sensor.
- Using your finger, pry the cover from the base.
- Remove the old battery and dispose of it properly, as recommended by the battery manufacturer.
- Replace with the new CR2032 battery, the + should be facing you.
- Push the cover back on the sensor until it clicks into place.

- Remove the cover-securing screw with a Phillips screwdriver and set it aside.
- Pry the base from the cover and set it aside.
- Remove the old battery and dispose of it properly, as recommended by the battery manufacturer.
- Insert the tab-like base until it catches with the cover into the base’s tab openings.
- Close the sensor and replace the screw.
