Purchase and Watch Movies Using the Contour On Demand Menu

Solution

You can purchase On Demand programming on your Contour receiver and then view it on multiple devices.

  • Purchases can be downloaded or streamed on up to three devices at a time.
  • Downloaded content can be viewed at any time without an Internet connection using the Contour app.
  • You can purchase TV shows and movies from your Contour receiver.

Purchase

  • Select premium and Subscription Video On Demand networks are available to purchase directly from the Contour receiver.
  • You must subscribe to Contour in order to make On Demand Purchases.
  • To disable the impulse functionality, you must disable functionality by setting up a Parental Controls PIN.

Access

  • To view HD content, you must have a Contour receiver connected to an HD TV or an HDCP-compliant device.
  • Former customers continue to have access to purchased titles using the Contour app and at watchtv.cox.com.

    Note: Only the PLAYER, PURCHASES, and SETTINGS options are available to former customers using the Contour app and at watchtv.cox.com. All other functions in the app are disabled.

How to...Steps

Network purchase / Subscription Video On Demand

  1. Attempt to view the requested content.

    Result: A window displays offering the ability to purchase the network at full price.

  2. Accept the Terms and Conditions including the fact that a lower promotional price may be available via phone or web.

Purchase On Demand Title from Receiver


Note: Purchases can be made only on Contour receivers.

From the Cox On Demand menu, check the Movie or TV shows menus.


Result: Titles available for purchase will display a BUY icon.

View purchases on your TV
  1. Press the Contour button on the remote.
  2. Highlight SAVED and press SELECT.
  3. Highlight PURCHASES and press SELECT.

View purchases on the web


Note: Requires login online with Cox User ID and Password.

  1. Log in to watchtv.cox.com.
  2. Click SAVED.
  3. Click PURCHASES or DOWNLOADS.
  4. Click on the purchased title.
  5. Click WATCH.

View purchases on mobile devices


Note: Requires login to the Contour App with Cox User ID and Password.

  1. Log into the Contour app.
  2. Tap SAVED or DOWNLOADS next to the desired title.
  3. Tap on the purchased title.
  4. Tap WATCH.
Download purchases on mobile devices

Purchased content is only downloadable through the Contour app.

  1. Log into the Contour app.
  2. Tap the title to be downloaded.
  3. Tap the DOWNLOADS button for the purchased title.


Notes:

  • Internet connection is required to download content.
  • Each device is limited to 10 items of downloaded content.
  • A maximum of three downloads for the same title can be downloaded to devices.
  • Downloaded content cannot be transferred to another device.
  • The title may take up to 30 minutes to appear.
  • Downloaded content will expire after 30 days if the device is not connected to the Internet during the 30 day period.
  • Expired content can be re-downloaded.
View On Demand Purchase Detail

The Purchases View is located in the SAVED section of the NAVIGATION Menu.

  • Tap PURCHASES to display the default list view of purchases.
     
    Note: Additional views are available using the sort icon located at the bottom right of the screen.
     
  • Tap the GALLERY icon to display Purchase Groups in gallery form.
  • Tap the poster art of the asset to display the details and actions such as Watch, Download, and Return.
Managing devices - Change device
  1. From the old device, log into the Contour app and un-register it.

    Note: All downloaded titles will be removed from the device.

  2. Using the new device, log into the Contour app with Cox Username and Password.

Note: Previously purchased titles must be downloaded manually to the new device.

Remove purchased content from a device
  1. Log into the Contour app.
  2. Tap the DOWNLOADS menu.
  3. Tap the purchased title to be removed.
  4. Tap RETURN.

Note: Title will be removed from this device only.

Accessing purchases after downgrading or disconnecting services

If you disconnect or downgrade to a lower level of service, you will continue to have access to purchased programming using the Contour app on mobile devices and at watchtv.cox.com.


Note: Only the PLAYER, PURCHASES, and SETTINGS options are available to former customers using the Contour app and watchtv.cox.com. All other functions are disabled.
