Pairing the Simplicity RT-SR50 Big Button Remote Control to a Basic Box / DTA

Solution

Note: Prior to starting ensure that both the mini box and TV are powered on.

Press and hold the SEL/OK and the MUTE buttons until the indicator light turns on.

Enter 0991.

Press the SEL/OK button.

Result: The indicator light blinks and then turns off.

Press the CH Up or CH Down button. Does the remote change the channel?

  • If yes, then the remote has successfully been programmed to the Cox Basic Box.
  • If no, then repeat steps 1 through 4.
