Opting Out of Third-Party Tailored Advertising

Cox Media sells advertising to advertisers who want to reach the audience that would be most interested in the advertisers’ products and services.

• These ads can be delivered to Cox customers when watching Cox Contour TV or when they are using their Cox Internet service.
• General demographic and interest information is used to create the audience.
• Some customers may not want to receive advertisements tailored to their household, and for those customers, we offer two opt-out options. The first opt-out applies to third-party online tailored ads, and the second opt-out applies to ads on Cox TV.

Note: Cox does not sell your personal information to the presented advertisers. Advertisers do not know which customers receive their ads. Targeted advertising is based on a blind match system that does not permit advertisers, sales representatives, and ad networks to have access to your personal information.

To opt-out of tailored advertising, complete the following steps.

Go to My Profile, enter your User ID and Password, and then click Sign In.
 

Note: If you do not remember your User ID or Password, or experience an issue signing in, see Recover Your Cox User ID or Reset Your Cox Password.

From the Password, Security & Privacy section, click Privacy preferences.

From the Privacy preferences page, complete the following.

1. Review the privacy statements in each section.
2. Based on the question for each statement, click to select Yes or No.
3. Click Save changes to update your preferences or click Cancel to exit the page.
