Check your power adapter connections if the Power LED is not solid green.

The Netgear CM400 includes the following connection ports:

    • POWER - Connects the cable modem to the power adapter
    • RESET - Restores factory settings
    • ETHERNET - Connects to the Ethernet port
    • CABLE - Connects to coaxial cable

MAC addresses are written as 12 digits containing both letters and numbers (0-9, A-F). A MAC address is unique. The first six characters of the MAC address are unique to the device's manufacturer.

Troubleshooting

The lights indicate the current status of your cable modem. To troubleshoot any connection problems, use the table below.

Power

Power light
Solid Green None.
Off No power. Verify power supply connections and electrical outlets. Also, make sure the outlet is not connected to a switch.
Upstream

Upstream light
Solid green None. One or more upstream channels are in use.
Blinking green None. Scanning for an upstream channel.
Off No upstream channel is in use.
Downstream

downstream light
Solid green None. One or more downstream channels are in use.
Blinking green None. Scanning for a downstream channel.
Off No downstream channel is in use.
Internet

Internet light
Solid Green None.
Blinking Green None. Scanning for configuration parameters - Verify power supply connections and electrical outlet. Also, make sure the outlet is not connected to a switch.
Off The cable modem is offline. Verify all cable connections and try resetting the modem.
Ethernet

Green A device is connected to the Ethernet port and powered on.
Off No device is connected to the Ethernet port.
