The Netgear C6250 is a DOCSIS 3.0 device offering 16 x 4 channel bonding and dual-band WiFi connectivity.

After the cable modem is successfully registered on the network, the Power, Receive, Send, and Online indicators continuously indicate that the cable modem is online and fully operational.

The Netgear C6250 has the following ports available on the back of the modem:

  • USB 2.0 - Connects to a USB hard drive, flash drive, or printer to the modem router.
  • Ethernet 1-2 - Two 10/100/1000 auto-sensing RJ-45 ports. Connect devices on your LAN (Local Area Network), such as a computer, hub, or switch, to these ports. Only one port is active at a time.
  • RESET - Use this button in the unlikely event that you want to restore the default factory settings. This button is recessed to prevent accidental resets of your modem. See Netgear's support article for resetting your device to factory settings.
  • Coax - Connect your coaxial cable line to this port.
  • AC - Connect the supplied power cord to this port.

MAC addresses are written as 12 digits containing both letters and numbers (0-9, A-F). A MAC address is unique. The first six characters of the MAC address are unique to the device's manufacturer.

Troubleshooting

The modem lights indicate the current status of your WiFi cable modem. To troubleshoot any connection problems, use the table below.

RedThe cable modem is too warm and might overheat:
  1. Disconnect the power adapter.
  2. Wait a couple of minutes to let the cable modem cool down.
  3. Make sure that the cable modem is placed in a vertical position.
  4. Ensure the cable modem is placed in a location with good ventilation.
  5. Reconnect the power adapter.
Downstream

Blinking AmberNone - This button lets you use WPS to join the WiFi network without typing the WiFi password.

The WiFi LEDs blink during this process and then light solid.
