Import, Export, and Share Contacts

Details

Use the following information to import, export, and share contacts using Cox Email.

  • Import contacts from another email provider to your Cox Email using a vCard or CSV file.
  • Export contacts if you wish to back up your contacts to your personal device or share your contacts with someone else.
  • Create a sharing link for a folder in the Contacts tab, then copy and paste the link into email, instant messenger, or a social network.

Importing Contacts

  1. Click the Contacts folder that you want to import, then click the Settings image of the cox email folder settings icon icon.
  2. Click Import.
  3. From Import from file window, click the Format drop-down list and select CSV or vCard
  4. Click Upload file.
  5. Locate the file you want to import on your device, then click Open.

    Note: When using the CSV file format, make sure that the email addresses column is spelled E-mail address to prevent errors.

  6. Click Import.

Exporting Contacts

  1. Click the Contacts folder that you want to export, then click the Settings image of the cox email folder settings icon icon.
  2. Click Export.
  3. From the Export folder window, click the Format drop-down list and select a file format.
  4. Click Export.

Sharing Contacts

  1. Click the Contacts folder that you want to share, then click the Settings image of the cox email folder settings icon icon.
  2. Click Create sharing link.
  3. From the Sharing link created for folder... window, select from the following options.
    • Click the Copy to clipboard button
    • Expiration date
    • Password required
    • Add recipients if sharing via email
    • Add a message if sharing via email
