Note: Phones may incorporate new technologies that may not have been tested for Hearing Aid Compatibility. Those devices will include the following information in their device Terms and Conditions:

This phone has been tested and rated for use with hearing aids for some of the wireless technologies that it uses. However, there may be some newer wireless technologies used in this phone that have not been tested yet for use with hearing aids. It is important to try the different features of this phone thoroughly and in different locations, using your hearing aid or cochlear implant, to determine if you hear any interfering noise. Consult your service provider or the manufacturer of this phone for information on Hearing Aid Compatibility. If you have questions about return or exchange policies, consult your service provider or phone retailer.

Hearing Aid Compatibility

Before December 5, 2023, hearing aid compatible wireless devices are rated according to the magnetic coil capability or telecoil (T) capability and the ability to reduce microphone (M) noise. This rating standard is known as the ANSI standard. The following are the ANSI rating standards for wireless devices.

  • T1-T4 for telecoil capability
  • M1-M4 for microphone noise reduction

Note: Higher ratings have better performance. M3 and T3 are the FCC minimum standards to be considered Hearing Aid Compatible.

After December 5, 2023, hearing aid compatible wireless devices began using the 2019 ANSI Standard. These phones will be rated on decibel rating (dB) with or without the use of a hearing aid and will no longer list the T & M ratings.
