With the Homelife mobile app, you can set up individual, personalized rules in your Automation service for your home’s lighting, energy usage, and more. You can also set up alerts and notifications for when predefined events occur.
Note: To disable or remove an existing rule, refer to Disable or Remove Existing Rules in the Mobile App for Homelife Automation.
Use the following information to access the Rules screen to create a rule.
Note: This solution provides an example of a rule for when the front door opens and sends a text.

Sign in to the Cox Homelife mobile app.

On the Home screen, tap the Automation menu.

From the Automation screen, tap the +.

On the New Automation screen, tap the Create Custom.

On the My Rule screen, under When did this happen, tap Select Event.

On the Select Event screen, select Doors and tap Continue.

Select Open, then tap Add.

From the My Rule screen, under Do this, tap Select Event.

On the Select Event screen, select Notify and tap Continue.

From the Notify screen, complete the following steps.
- Select Send Text Message.
- Pick the contact that will receive the message.
- Tap Continue.

On the My Rule screen, make any optional changes and tap Save
Result: The new rule displays on the Automation screen under My Rules.
