Changing Your Primary Contact Email on Cox.com

Solution

Your primary email helps you recover your account if you forget your password. Follow the steps below to change your primary contact email address.

Sign in at Cox.com with the following steps.

  1. In a web browser, go to www.cox.com.
  2. Click Sign In My Account at the top of the homepage.
  3. Enter your primary User ID and Password, then click Sign In.

    Note: You must log in as the primary user to modify your primary contact email.

Click View Profile.

In the Email Addresses section, click Edit Email Addresses.

Update your primary contact email with the following steps.

  1. In the Primary Contact Email field, enter your email address.

    Note: Cox recommends entering an email address that is not your Cox Email address.
     
  2. Click Save Changes.

    Result: A confirmation message and note display.

To complete the email validation process and finalize the update to your primary contact email address, use the following steps.

  1. Access your email account.
  2. Locate and open the email from Cox Communications.
  3. Follow the prompts.

    Note: Validation requests from Cox expire 48 hours after sending.
