The following information is to assist customers who have one Cox Voice line but are using both phone ports on their 3402 modems. If there are no phone lines or equipment connected to Tel2, then disregard the email / message you received.
Beginning March 22, 2022, a device update will disable the false dial tone on Tel2 of the phone modem for customers with only one Cox Voice line of service. Any phone or fax equipment connected to port 2 of the modem must be removed prior to that date.

Choose one of the following options to connect your phone equipment to Tel1.
