After the modem is successfully connected to the network, the Power, Receive, Send, and Online indicators continuously indicate that the modem is online and fully operational.

The following ports are available on the back of the modem.

  • ETHERNET - Connects to the Ethernet port on your computer
  • USB - Connects to the USB port on your computer
  • CABLE - Connects to the cable wall outlet
  • POWER - Connects the cable modem to the power adapter
     

MAC Address

MAC addresses are written as 12 digits containing both letters and numbers (0-9, A-F).

  • A MAC address is unique.
  • The first six characters of the MAC address are unique to the device's manufacturer.
  • This information is usually found on a sticker at the bottom of the modem.

Troubleshooting

The lights indicate the current status of your modem. To troubleshoot any connection problems, use the table below.

POWER

Power
Off No power. Verify all cable connections and try resetting the modem.
Solid Green None.
RECEIVE

Receive
Flashing Scanning for a downstream channel. Verify all cable connections and try resetting the modem.
Solid Green None - the connection from the computer to the Internet is established on one channel.
Solid Blue None - operating on more than one channel (downstream bond mode).
SEND

Send
Off The upstream channel is inactive. Verify all cable connections and try resetting the modem.
Flashing Scanning for the upstream channel. Verify all cable connections and try resetting the modem.
Solid Green None - the connection from the Internet to the computer is established on one channel.
Solid Blue None - operating on more than one channel (upstream bond mode).
ONLINE

Online
Off No connection. Verify all cable connections and try resetting the modem.
Solid Green None - operational.
Flashing None - scanning for configuration parameters.

Off No devices are connected. Verify all cable connections and try resetting the modem.
Flashing None - a single device connected to the Ethernet port, and data is being transferred between the computer and the cable modem.
Solid Blue None - connected to 1000 Mbps.
Solid Amber None - connected at 10 or 100 Mbps.
