Adjusting Closed Caption Settings on a Basic Box / DTA

Solution

Use the steps below to turn on Closed Captioning and to adjust its settings.

Note: To exit the menu at any time and return to your programming, press Exit.

Using the Cox remote, press the MENU button to access the Main Menu.

Use the up or down arrows to highlight Settings and press SELECT.

Use the up or down arrows to highlight Closed Captioning and press SELECT.

Use the up or down arrows to highlight Turn on CC and press SELECT.

If you do not need to change the Closed Captioning options, then press Exit to exit the settings menu. All steps complete.
If you need to change the Closed Captioning options, then continue to the next step.

Note: The Closed Captioning must be turned on to access the Closed Captioning options.

To access the Closed Captioning options, use the down arrow to highlight CC Options and press SELECT.

Use the arrows to navigate the options to choose and set the options as desired. Refer to the table below for information about the setting options.

Option	Description
Analog Service	The Analog Service option is to set the Closed Captioning of Analog stations. The options available are as follows. CC1 - CC4 Text 1 - Text 4
Digital Service	The Digital Service option is to set the Closed Captioning of Digital stations. The options available are as follows. Primary Secondary DTVCC3 - DTVCC6
Text Style	The Text Style options are as follows. Default Monospaced Serif Proportional Serif Monospaced Sans Serif Proportional Sans Serif Casual Cursive Small Capitals
Text Size	The Text Size options are as follows. Small Medium (default) Large
Text Color	The Text Colors are as follows. Standard White Black Red Green Blue Yellow Magenta Cyan
Text Opacity	The Text Opacity options are as follows. Opaque Semi-transparent
Text Character Edge	The Character Edge options are as follows. No Edge (Default) Round Edges Depressed Edges Uniform Edges Drop Shadowed Edges
Background Color	The Background Colors are as follows. Standard White Black Red Green Blue Yellow Magenta Cyan
Background Opacity	The Background Opacity options are as follows. Opaque Semi-transparent Transparent Flashing
Caption Window Color	The Caption Window Colors are as follows. Standard White Black Red Green Blue Yellow Magenta Cyan
Caption Window Opacity	The Caption Window Opacity options are as follows. Opaque Semi-transparent Transparent (Default)
