Activating Your New Internet or Phone Modem



Complete the following general steps to connect your device.

  1. Connect the coax cable provided with your kit from the wall to the back of the modem.
  2. Connected the power cord into the power port on the back of the device and the other end into an electrical outlet.
  3. Power on the device and wait at least 15 minutes for the initial boot-up process to complete.
  4. Refer to your provided Easy Connect Kit or refer to Cox Easy Connect Kits and User Guides for a digital copy.

Note: If you have a retail modem not supplied by Cox, locate the following information on the modem.

  • Serial number
  • Retail MAC address

To activate your device, open your browser and enter www.cox.com/activate.

  1. Look up your account using one of the following.
    • Service address
    • Account number
    • Cox User ID
  2. Click Next.
  1. Complete the required information to access your account.
  2. Click Next.

Complete the guided instructions to activate your service and device.

The instructions can vary based on the services and equipment being connected while utilizing Easy Connect.
