Access and Log in to Yahoo Mail After Transition

The following table lists ways you will be able to access your email after your cox.net email is moved to Yahoo Mail.

  1. Go to http://mail.yahoo.com/.
  2. Sign in using your email address and password.
Note: If you use myemail.cox.net or click email through cox.com to access your email, you will be redirected to Yahoo Webmail.
Yahoo App
  1. Install the Yahoo Mail app from the App Store or Play Store.
  2. Sign in using your cox.net email address and password.
Pre-Installed Mail AppMany smartphones and tablets will have a pre-installed email app, often called ‘Mail” where you can add multiple email accounts. To set up Yahoo on these apps, select your device and follow the appropriate instructions:
Third-party email clientsAs a part of the move process, the various settings that allow a third-party email client to operate will need to be created on your part to reflect the new Yahoo settings. For more information about necessary settings see Fix POP or IMAP client sending and receiving issues.

  • If you open a different email account with a different provider, we will have to defer to their policies and terms for what is or is not available to be moved to Yahoo Mail later. Please visit the selected provider’s support pages to confirm specifics.
I've successfully logged in to Yahoo Mail for the first time, but only some of my email is available or displaying.In rare situations, if can take 24 to 48 hours for all email content to fully migrate to Yahoo Mail after the first login. If the issue persists after 48 hours, contact Yahoo at 1-866-562-7250 for additional support.
Add a new email accountAs of August 15, 2019, we no longer offer the ability for new and existing Cox Internet customers to create new Cox Email accounts.

While this is not needed to access your transitioned email, if you wish to create an entirely new standalone Yahoo account, not associated with your Cox information, you can do so at login.yahoo.com, by clicking Create an Account.
I don't act within 365 days of the moveTo reactivate your cox.net email account after moving over to Yahoo Mail, simply log into Yahoo Mail and accept their terms. You will be able to use your cox.net email address on the Yahoo Mail platform; however, after 12 months of inactivity, all mailbox contents, folders, contacts, and settings will be permanently deleted.
Access the cox.net email address if I choose to discontinue services with CoxAfter the move to Yahoo Mail is complete, and you accept their Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, your cox.net email address will be supported by Yahoo and will be accessible to you even if you choose to discontinue service with Cox.
